The hostellers of SASA celebrated Dushehra on Sept. 28, 2009. This was celebrated to remember the victory of good over evil. It was a day of treats for the hostellers, as they were served Masala Dosa with Sambhar in the lunch and yummy hot Jalebi’s in the evening. The students of SASA made the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkaran and Meghnath and they burnt them around 6:00 PM in the evening. This was followed by a cultural program in which the students enacted a scene from Ramayana, which gave the message of brotherhood. Students also presented various dance items and skits, which were prepared by them in 2 days.

The chief guests involved the family of Dr. Subhash Sharma, including his wife Mrs. Srishtha Sharma, son & daughter-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Sumant Sharma and daughter Ms. Ritu Sharma. Dr. Subhash Sharma has been the first donor in the initial years of SASA and still continues to donate with good will. Their son Sumant Sharma, had been the first band captain of SASA band and their daughter has been a very good student of Academy. We felt proud, when she informed the students that she has completed her M.Sc. in Microbiology and has now been appointed in the Research center of India at Chandigarh. May God bless their family with good health and prosperity.
