The 38^th State School Science Fair-2009 has been arranged in first week of December by Govt. of Punjab at Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School, Roopnagar where the winner students of all Districts participated with their working Models & Science skills. This year’s motto was, “Science Technology & Society”. During these four days Science Competitions District Ludhiana bagged the over all, first position, Mohali Second & Amritsar was third. Sahibzada Ajit Singh Academy proved being the best one while keeping the head of host District Roopnagar high. The working model prepared by SASA student Mr. Shivam Gupta in sub theme ‘Climate Changes – causes & Consequences’ (in Senior Secondary Category) got First Position & in Secondary Schools category the model of SASA student  Ms. Ravinder Kaur under sub theme ‘Biology in human welfare’ bagged Third Position. In declamation contest Ms. Jaspreet Kaur of SASA bagged First Position in State Level Contest held at Hoshiarpur. Now, these students would be participating in All India Model Making & Declamation Contest. The Education Minister of Punjab Dr. Upinderjit Kaur highly appreciated the SASA students. The Director of Academy Mr. Sukhjinder Singh appreciated the winner students along with their teacher Incharges Mrs. Kavita Verma & Ms. Bhawandeep Kaur for preparing the students up to winning level. He also thanked Mr. Dharam Singh District Education Officer (S) of Roopnagar & Mr. Lokesh Sharma District Science Supervisor for their esteemed guidance & assistance. During sharing a cup of tea with the winners Mr. Rajan Chopra, Principal, Mrs. Sudesh Sujati, Vice-Principal along with Ms. Tasveer Kaur, School Inspector were also present.  

It is worth to mention that very recently SASA student Ms. Suhana was selected among 24 students for All India National Science Quiz program to be telecasted by National Television by Ministry of Science & Technology, New Delhi. The NCC Air Wing Cadets won overall Trophy in Punjab State Annual Training Camp-1 organized by 3 Punjab Air Sqd., Patiala. Quiz
