SASA STUDENTS REPRESENT INDIA IN TURKEY

 

Ropar – June 04, 2010 - Two students Mr. Jatinderpal Singh & Miss. Ravinder Kaur of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Academy, the residential school in Ropar represented India in International Science Fair – 2010 held at Burdur city of Turkey by MEHMET AKIF ERSOY UNIVERSITY. SASA presented its project on Climate Change – Causes & consequences. SASA has been the only school invited by Government of Turkey to represent India giving its view on the topic how to save the environment. The University arranged all Lodging & Boarding for the International Delegates along with providing them the senior students of the University as Co-ordinators and Translators. The Director of the Academy Mr. Sukhjinder Singh further told, “We were given a Royal Reception not by the University but also by the Governor of the State. They got us to plant the saplings at ‘Tefenni’ village to enrich the Friendship of the World through Forests. They also got us to visit Insuyu Cavern which is the second largest cave in the world with millions of stalactites and stalagmites. We also visited Sagalassos, Hacilar, Sybria, Cremna, Kumcay and Incirhan remarkable with statues dating back to Ancient Rome. We have been got to visit Istanbul where we have been to Topkopi Palace, Rooftop bar, Meyhanes, Chora Church, Bosphorus, Grand Bazaar, Contemporary Art Galleries and Black Sea”.

 

The Director added that there is a lot of similar in Turkish and Indian culture. But Turkish people are more aware of education and environment.
