SASA STUDENTS TRAVEL TO MUSSOORIE
Ropar (June 14, 2010) Sahibzada Ajit Singh Academy, the residential school of Ropar, continued their tradition of making travelling a part of education, got its students to visit Mussoorie. More than 200 students and 20 teachers went on this tour. The main event of this tour have been Hiking & trekking. Where the students judged their physical abilities, on the other hand they also got a chance to observe the tradition, social, living style of the people of Uttarakhand. The Principal of the Academy, Mr. Rajan Chopra who headed the tour, informed that the students during the tour visited major sites of Mussoorie like Hathi Paun, Dehradun, Kempti Fall, Gun Hill, Forest Research Institute etc.
Exciting Trekking of 12 Km from Batha Fall could not make the students tired where as the natural beauty of Hathi Paun refreshed them mentally & physically. The students enjoyed the green mountains of Mussoorie while reaching at highest peak called Gun Hill point.
The student enjoyed the perennial process of Kempti Fall by taking bath in the fresh and chilled water. Student shopped at the Mall Road in Mussoorie. They also visited the Asia’s No. 1 and world’s No. 2 Forest Research Institute at Dehradun, where they saw more than 400 trees of 200 different species. There they also visited 6 different types of museums where they were informed about advantages of trees and the effects of different diseases on trees.
The Director of the Academy Mr. Sukhjinder Singh while commenting on this tour said, “Experience, travel - these are as education in themselves”.
