SASA-India signs MoU with Garforth Community College, England

 

Ropar – July 14, 2010 – Sahibzada Ajit Singh Academy (SASA-India), twelve grade residential school at Ropar signs MoU with Garforth Community College based at Leeds in England. Seven Students of Academy named Mr. Arshdeep Singh, Miss Amandeep Kaur, Mr. Bikramjeet Singh Ghuman, Mr. Jobanpreet Singh, Mr. Yadwinder Singh, Miss Manpreet Kaur & Mr. Gurkirat Singh along with Director of the Academy Mr. Sukhjinder Singh and Mrs. Harminder Kaur visited England for ten days. They spent first five days at the college attending classes and discussions on how to work together to produce the future citizens of the world which may be expert in know-how along with working for International Peace & Understanding. The Governor of International Relations Mrs. Rebecca Brayson, Principal Sir Edwards Paul, Vice-Principal Martin Colley, Assistant Principal Aileen Larsen discussed the issues of working together with SASA-India. Ultimately both the schools signed MoU to work together on Students & Faculty Exchange along with preparing the students to face the East & West problems. The visiting students also represented India in Garforth Arts Festival giving presentation of Indian Culture and Social Background through fusion of Folk Dances of India along with Hollywood & Bollywood. Speaking on this occasion the Governor of International Relations said, “India is a vast country with vast culture and we are happy that our college has got the doors opened to India.” The students of the college while interacting with the SASA students showed keen interest in Indian Education. They were impressed with the confidence of SASA students and they wished to learn & share the things with them. Mrs. Aileen Larsen played the central role bringing both the schools working together and she expressed her happiness saying so, “It is high time that we should accept that this world has become a small village where we shall have to share Life & Education together to prepare the coming generation as future citizens of the world.”

 

The SASA students stayed at London also and they could visit Buckingham Palace, London Museum, British Museum, Science Museum, British Parliament, and Madame Tussauds etc.
