SASA celebrated FOREST DAY (May 17, 2009)

Dharamdev (Hostel Superintendent)

Boarding students of SASA had a wonderful day in the forest area of Ropar City on May 17, 2009. All the residential teachers and students stayed in the forest from ten in the morning to five in the evening and dedicated their day to Nature, appreciating its existence and gifts to human beings.

The students spent their day performing various activities and tasks assigned to them. All the students were divided into teams ranging from students of Nursery to Twelve Grade. All the teams made their own huts with bamboos and bed sheets. Students also had their lunch in the lap of Nature. The other activities of the day included Treasure Hunt, Collecting Leaves, Finding Stones and Tug of War. All the teams were given points for each activity according to their performance.

At the end of the day, the score board revealed that from Hostel No. 1 team Amazon was First with team Nile at Second place and team Yangtze at Third place. Similarly from Hostel No. 2 and 3 team Urals was First, followed by Atlas who were at Second place with team Himalayas at Third place. The judges were amazed to see students working so hard to build their huts and for students treasure hunt and tug of war were the best activities.

In the evening, before coming back to the campus, the students also went to Boat Club for some time in order to relax and enjoy their memorable day’s evening.
